PolyChek4 is one of the handiest tools you can have in your flight box. Once you use it, you’ll wonder how you lived without it! The PolyChek4 is a precision voltmeter for use with 1, 2, 3 or 4 cell Li-Po batteries. Just plug it into the balance tap on your battery and instantly read the voltage of each cell, or the entire pack. Now, you can accurately monitor your battery’s health and performance, both at rest and under load. PolyChek4 has many features not found in low-cost voltmeters. Ever wondered how low your battery got during that last flight? PolyChek4 is small and light enough to be used inside most aircraft, cars or boats! Why is the PolyChek4 better than the cheap imported voltmeters? - This one is accurate! You always need high accuracy, but especially when checking Li-Po batteries. Compare the cheap imports against a good voltmeter and you’ll see they are not telling you the truth. A lot of the chargers on the market give inaccurate readings as well. This can lead to overcharging and disaster. Know the exact voltage with the PolyChek4! - The PolyChek4’s LCD display makes it easy to read in direct sunlight. Go ahead; try reading one of the cheapies in the sun with their dim LED displays. - PolyChek4 displays all 4 cells at once for easy comparison. With a cheap voltmeter, it is very difficult to remember the cell voltages as they flash by you one-by-one. “Hey, this pack has a low cell! Now, which one was it??” - PolyChek4 displays the entire pack voltage (up to 4 cells) with the same high accuracy. - PolyChek4 was engineered and is assembled in the USA by Mikro Designs. PolyChek4 is really easy to use, with three modes of operation. You can switch modes by pressing and releasing the red “mode” button on the right end of the PolyChek4. Holding the mode button down will read the total of the voltages displayed. VOLTS: Is this pack charged? Are the cells balanced? Simply plug in the PolyChek4 and know for sure. Align the most negative wire of the balance connector with the negative pin on the PolyChek4 to read the first 4 cells in the pack. If the display does not say “Volt” on the right end, press and release the Mode button until it does. You will see a real-time display of each cell’s exact voltage. Hold the mode button down to see the total pack voltage (up to 4S). Note: PolyChek4 can be used on packs with more than 4 cells by simply plugging it in towards the positive end of the balance connector. HOLD: Want to remember your cell voltages, even after you have disconnected the PolyChek4? From “Volt” mode, press and release the mode button. The flashing word “HOLD” will appear, the cell readings will freeze, and the data will be stored. Next time you plug in your PolyChek4, the stored readings will re-appear and the word “HOLD” will remind you the display is frozen. To un-freeze the display and erase the memory, press and release the mode button until you are in “Volt” mode. LOWEST: What is my voltage under load? Am I pulling too much current for my battery? Are one or more cells underperforming? In “LOWST” mode the PolyChek4 will read and store the lowest measured voltage since entering the mode. Press the mode button until “LOWST” appears on the right. This feature is great for checking the Li-Po’s performance under full load. Put it in your model, run it up, and PolyChek4 will store and display the lowest voltages measured during the run. You can easily see if you are overloading the battery and causing the voltage to drop too far. It also tells you if you have a bad cell (and which one) if one or more readings is lower that the rest. To erase the memory, press the mode button until you are in “Volt” mode. Note: If PolyChek4 is in “LOWST” mode, unplugging it will stop further readings, to avoid false displays. Specs: Size: 5.13”L x 0.88W x 0.50H (130mm x 16mm x 13mm) Weight: 1.3 oz. (37g) Accuracy: +/- 10mV Cell 1 (the two pins closest to the negative symbol) must be powered by at least 2.7 volts.
